                   	     ORDINANCE NO.   10481 
                  
                  
                   AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING SHERWOOD
                   AVENUE LOCATED SOUTHEAST FROM RIDGE AVENUE, AND
                   NORTHWEST FROM LAUREL AVENUE, MORE PARTICULARLY
                   DESCRIBED HEREIN, UPON CERTAIN CONDITIONS.

              	   SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
         CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby 
closed
         and abandoned Sherwood Avenue located southeast from Ridge 
Avenue,
         and northwest from Laurel Avenue, more particularly described
         herein, and as shown on plat attached hereto and made a part
         hereof by reference:
        
                Sherwood Avenue, a 30 foot wide unopened
                right-of-way beginning on the southeast line of
                Ridge Avenue, and extending southeast some 240 feet
                between parallel lines to the northwest line of
                Laurel Avenue (unopened).  Said street separates
                lot 109 from lot 108 and part of lot 107, Bragg
                Hill Land Company's Addition to Mission Ridge, as
                shown by plat of record in plat book 7, page 9,
                ROHC.  Tax Map No. 156E-A-23, 24, and 25.
               
               
              	   SECTION 2.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this closure
         and abandonment is made subject to the following conditions:
        
                1. This abandonment is subject to reservation of a
                   10-foot wide easement over the north 10 feet of
                   the south 15 feet for the owners to the north to
                   construct and maintain a private one-way
                   driveway.
               
                2. The areas reserved for utility easements must be
                   kept free and clear of all structures.
               
                3. All existing easements are retained.
               
              	   SECTION 3.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this 
Ordinance
         shall take effect two weeks from and after its passage as 
provided
         by law.
